Lee Tae-yong (born on (1995-07-01)July 1, 1995), referred to monomously as Taeyong, is a South Korean singer and rapper. He is best known as a leader of the South Korean boy group NCT, and its sub-units NCT U and NCT 127.

Career[edit]

2013–2015: SM Rookies[edit]

In December 2013, Taeyong was introduced as part of SM Rookies.[1][2]

In August, 2014, Taeyong  participated with other members on the show Exo 90:2014 with other trainees where they performed songs from the 90s.[3] In the same month, a video of Taeyong with Johnny and Hansol dancing to the song "Super Moon" under the name of SR14B was released.[4]

In September, Taeyong was featured in the music video of "Missing You" music video remake by EXO's Lay's for EXO 90:2014.[5]

In October, he was featured in Red Velvet's "Be Natural".[6]

2016–present: Debut[edit]

On April 9, S.M. Entertainment confirmed Taeyong alongside other members to debut as members of NCT's first sub-unit, NCT U.[7]

On July 1, S.M. announced NCT's second unit, NCT 127, with Taeyong and other six members.[8]

On May 12, 2017, Taeyong's collaboration song "Around" with Hitchhiker was released through SM Station.[9]
