Major Tariq Mehmood Akhter   (also طارق محمود اختر) born on January 27,1963 is an ex staff officer of Pakistan Army. He was born at village Awan sharif  to a Muslim Jat family during India-Pakistan war days. In a nut shell his family decided to migrate from village which was about to be bombed by Indians, this all urged him to join Pakistan Army and serve his nation however he was commissioned in late 1980s. As a young potential officer he put his life many times in risk in order to serve motherland which makes him a very prominent figure around. He also fought Kargil War in 1999. However serving more than 23 years he retired at a rank of major from Artillery Center Attock on october 31,2009 and decided to settle near his hometown so that he could still serve more people of attacked area.
